Training is the key to good forklift safety — Even if associates operate forklifts safely, a defect can cause or contribute to a serious accident. A forklift must be checked for defects daily — usually at the beginning of a shift. The State of Washington Department of Labor and Industries provides these checklists for gas or LPG, and electric lift trucks.
