About the Distribution Group
For over 40 years, the Distribution Group has provided practical news and information to distribution professionals around the globe.
The Groups main activities include publishing Distribution Center Management, the only industry publication in continuous operation for over four decades; publishing industry books and reports; and operating the DistributionGroup.com website.
At the website, distribution professionals have access to many practical resources such as the online Warehouse Management Systems directory, key industry links, an events calendar, and the popular From the Golden Zone series of articles. Also available at the website are many of the Distribution Groups books including: How to Save Warehouse Space; Time, Space & Cost Guide to Better Warehouse Design; Warehouse Productivity; The Zen of Warehouse Management and Highly Competitive Warehouse Management.
The Distribution Group was founded by Warren Blanding. Mr. Blanding was also a founding member of the Warehousing Education and Research Council (WERC) and was a frequent speaker at its conferences and seminars.
He was also active in the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals. Mr. Blanding received the Councils Distinguished Service Award, which is given annually to an individual who has made significant contributions to the art and science of logistics management. The award is the highest honor that can be bestowed upon an individual for achievement in logistics.
For many years, Mr. Blanding worked with partner Leslie Hansen Harps. Ms. Harps is a past editor of Distribution Center Management, as well as a past president of WERC, and continues to write and speak on warehousing topics.
Distribution Center Management is currently edited by Jeff Ostrowski.
